Welcome to a positive new option in UK politics...

We are the Social Progress Party, and we have a burning ambition to reset British politics to be at the service of a healthy, prosperous, harmonious society.  We do not seek division or culture wars, or to demonise any element of society, we just want greater kindness and empathy in politics that leads to changes for the better for the most disadvantaged.

The party logo is a blossoming spring tree to symbolise a fresh start for UK politics as well as the party's respect for nature and the environment.

Our most requested policy positions:

We support:

  • Proportional Representation

  • Action on climate change and pollution, and its causes

  • Closer alignment to, and eventual re-joining of, the European Union

  • A greater proportion of tax being paid by the highest earners

  • Clear and safe routes for refugees and asylum seekers

  • Restrictions on economic immigration

  • Immediate ceasefires and peaceful, long term solutions to regional conflicts wherever possible

  • Protections for minority groups and religions

  • Alternative solutions to LTNs (Low Traffic Neighbourhoods)

A summary of the party's Core Principles:

“We seek to achieve future focused positive, measured social and environmental progress through global engagement and reasonable levels of transparently allocated state care and intervention, funded by taxation assessed based on the ability to pay, and profits from selectively nationalised industry and services.”

Hello, and thanks for your interest in the Social Progress Party.  The SPP has been created to try to turn the tide in British politics back towards the people and communities that make up our society, and against the current self-serving antics of mainstream politicians.

We are still developing our full range of policy positions but are sharing as many as possible on this site to hopefully attract new party members and donations, as well as feedback on how the party could develop further.  Please review the Policies in summary here, and in detail through the "Policies" drop down menu button above.  If you are interested, and would like to support us, please visit our GoFundMe page: https://gofund.me/99c7299a

We will be updating the site in the coming weeks and months with additional detail on our policy proposals as well as blog items, so please do bookmark this page so you can check in regularly to see how we are doing! (And of course, feel free to share the site and our vision with any of your family and friends you think it might be of interest to.)

**Please note that the SPP is not yet registered as a political party in the UK or Northern Ireland.  Once we have managed to recruit an appropriate level of members this will be done as soon as possible.**
