Supporting businesses while protecting workers:
Reduce regulation and levies on small businesses, Introduce an online protection framework; reduce pay gaps; regulate zero-hour contracts; strengthen companies’ accountability to their customers.

Underlying Principles:
The Government should provide a consistent and fair framework for the economy which allows businesses and individuals to compete and make long term investment decisions while also protecting consumers, employees, society and the environment.
The right of an employee to fair and reasonable treatment should take precedence over companies’ profits and shareholder dividends.
Direct or indirect discrimination against individuals based on gender, sexuality, race, class, disability or religion, either as recruitment candidates or employees, will not be tolerated unless such a characteristic can objectively be seen as fundamentally incompatible with the role.
Healthy, unemployed individuals should be given appropriate tools and support to work where possible.
Profits generated in the UK should be appropriately taxed as such.
The interconnected nature of both national and international economies should be considered when implemented regulatory or legal changes to ensure that unintended consequences are minimised.
Economic growth should not be considered a greater priority than many other national indicators, such as health and inequality.
Businesses need to be protected from egregious or malevolent actions by employees and/or the public.
Small businesses should have a reduced regulatory and tax burden.
Greater regulation of online business generally, and social media in particular.
